High Score is the seventh episode of season two (and ninteenth episode overall) of Regular Show.

Plot

Mordecai and Rigby are raking the leaves when Benson gives them their pay. They are mad because Benson always gives their money in resealable plastic bags filled with random bills and coins instead of a normal check (then the two compare their payment to Skips). They also say they deserve more respect, Benson says that they need to actually work hard if they want proper money and he drives off in the cart. Mordecai gets annoyed and decides that he needs to get out of the park for a break.

As Mordecai and Rigby walk down the street, they get run over by two kids on their skateboards. As they get to The Coffee Shop, they agree that in order to get respect, they need to be good at things. Just then, they see people crowding an arcade game called Broken Bonez, being played by the same kids who ran them over. Then Margaret gives the kids free food. Mordecai thought that this is how they could earn respect Mordecai then challenges their high score of 700,000 but instead, he and Rigby get negative points. Mordecai and Rigby decide to play the game more and more in order to get respect; then, a man named Jack Farley, comes to them to try to beat them in the game, but loses. He gives a card to Mordecai and Rigby stating "Jack Farley thinks you're awesome."

Mordecai and Rigby are determined to gain respect now more than ever, and they dominate everybody on Broken Bonez, earning respect in the process (even receiving doughnuts as a reward for winning). Then the kids come and they start playing them, after beating the kids they beat the world record, then a giant head called G.B.F. comes and says it isn't anything important like the Universe Record. They decide to challenge G.B.F (short for Gareth Bobby Ferguson).

Despite his great effort, Mordecai and Rigby are close to the high score, but G.B.F. begs them not to break it, stating that Broken Bonez is his life and his wife left him because of it, so despite wanting to win, they know that to get respect, they have to do the right thing; however, G.B.F. reveals that he lied and he does not even have a wife and that the game is just a hobby of his. Mordecai and Rigby then skewer G.B.F.'s concentration (considering that there aren't any rules), along with the crowd. He had already beaten Mordecai and Rigby's score so it looked like they were finished, until Jack Farley points out that the game is still on. Mordecai and Rigby play while being sabotaged, then beat up G.B.F, such as biting his leg and kicking his chin. Whilst celebrating victory, Mordecai, Rigby, and the crowd witness G.B.F. exploding into goo.

Benson happens to be in the crowd, also covered in brain goo. He had decided he was being mean and brought them their checks but he thens ripped them up and says if they want to spend their life playing video games, then he respects that.
